Malaysia should limit plastic emissions into the World Ocean - WWF

The Wildlife Protection Fund (WWF) has called on Malaysia's government to limit plastic packaging emissions into the ocean. This is reported by Reuters on February 17 with reference to the report of the organization. The report states that about 8 million tons of plastic are thrown into the oceans every year. China, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam account for 60%. According to WWF estimates, the volume of plastic in the world ocean will quadruple by 2050 compared to 2010, which will have an extremely negative impact on the ecosystem. Malaysia ranks first among these six countries in the production and consumption of plastic-packed products per capita. In this regard, eco-defenders call on the authorities to change their policy on this issue.
