In Spain, all state museums closed due to coronavirus outbreak
Museums and state archives under the Ministry of Culture will be closed in Spain due to the coronavirus pandemic. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry on March 12. Additional preventive measures have been taken in response to the threat of coronavirus spread and to ensure the health of visitors, users and staff of museums and state archives throughout Spain. The El Greco Museum in Toledo, the Altamir National Museum and Research Center in Cantabria, the Servantes House Museum in Valladolid, the Roman Art Museum in Merida, the Indius General Archive in Seville, the Simancas General Archive, the Aragon Crown General Archive in Barcelona and a number of others have been suspended. From March 13, the Cathedral of the Holy Family in Barcelona will be closed to visitors. Earlier, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Queen Sofia Museum and the Tissène-Bornemis Museum were closed. Earlier, the news agency reported that the number of coronavirus cases in the autonomous community of Madrid alone in Spain reached 1,388, during the day 350 infections were detected.
