Iranian student in US initiates anti-coronavirus campaign

On March 17, an Iranian graduate student at the University of Maryland said she and her friends had initiated a campaign to reduce the number of coronavirus infections of at-risk seniors who leave their homes during the epidemic. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA on March 18. Speaking to IRNA's New York correspondent, Zara Rahmati noted: Let me remind people on these difficult days that some people, especially the elderly, may not be able to get out of their homes and need other people to go out and buy them goods, such as medication. There may be some people who have difficulty buying the necessary goods in supermarkets, Rahmati said. In this regard, the Iranian woman announced that she and her friends were recruiting volunteers who were willing to take risks and shop for people at risk.
