Iran sends plane to Russia to return Iranian students
Reza Jafarzadeh, spokesman for Iran's Civil Aviation Organization (CAO), confirmed the transfer of Iranian students from Moscow to Tehran amid a global outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. This was reported by Iranian agency Mehr News on April 16. Many foreign airline flights were suspended after the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Jafarzadeh said. According to him, the Iranian government cares for its citizens abroad, and therefore returns them to their homeland from those countries affected by the outbreak. As coronavirus spreads around the world, airlines cancel routes both as a precaution and to stop the spread of the virus. Kianush Jahanpur, head of the Office of Public Affairs at Iran's Ministry of Health, said 77,995 people were infected with coronavirus (COVID-19), 4,869 of whom died. In the last 24 hours, 1,606 new infections have been detected in the country and 92 people have died.
