Pandemic did not interrupt trade relations between Russia and Iran

Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Iran is negatively affected by the coronavirus pandemic, but trade continues. This was announced on May 1 by the trade representative of the Russian Federation in Tehran Rustam Zhiganshin. He noted that the spread of coronavirus infection had a negative impact on both the global economic situation and on trade and economic cooperation between Moscow and Tehran. But even under restrictions, cargo traffic is not stopped, goods are transported both by land and by sea. However, we are optimistic about the prospects of further growth of trade turnover this year, Zhiganshin RIA Novosti said. Iran recorded a 24% increase in trade with Russia to $2.15 billion over the past year, which expired on March 20.
