China has seen a boom in the development of children's literature

According to a recently released report, more than 44,000 children's book titles were published in China in 2018, the highest in the world, Xinhua news agency reported on June 1. In total, there are more than 550 children's publishing houses in the country, according to the report. The annual volume of publication of children's books shows double-digit growth for 20 years in a row in China. In addition to books in soft and hard cover, audiobooks are gaining popularity in the country. The total output of children's audiobooks is expected to reach 7.83 billion yuan in 2020. China Press and Publishing Media Group, the general detector, said more efforts should be made in the name of increasing the quality of home children's literature and picture books in order to distribute readings to children in poor rural areas of the country.
