Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs arrested six people associated with organized crime groups

Employees of the central department of the criminal police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, together with the Prosecutor General's Office of Georgia in Tbilisi and the Ajar region, conducted a joint comprehensive special operation, during which 6 persons belonging to or associated with the thieves' world were detained. This was announced at a briefing on June 24 by the deputy director of the central department of the criminal police, Georgy Liluashvili. Among the detainees were both members of the underworld and those who sought help from thieves in law or openly supported their activities. Another M.M. in the same case, repeatedly tried in the past and now serving another term, was charged directly in prison. In addition to them, two thieves abroad in law, Jeyran Kintsurashvili, nicknamed Honsky, born in 1977, and Tamaz Kartsivadze, nicknamed Kusa, born in 1963, as well as a member of the criminal world, a certain R.P., born in 1983, were charged in absentia. Procedures have begun to put them on the wanted list. The investigation found that some of these persons participated in the resolution of the dispute related to the return of debt. Representatives of the underworld were involved in the dispute themselves. To resolve the dispute, members of the thieves' world turned to Georgian thieves abroad in law Kintsurashvili and Kartsivadze and, with their support, arranged a thieves' showdown in the apartment of one of the accused and demanded that one of the parties to the dispute pay 8,800 euros. As a result of a search in this apartment, computer equipment and mobile phones of the accused were seized, with the help of which they contacted each other and criminal authorities located abroad. The charges brought against 10 representatives of the criminal world threaten them with imprisonment for a term of 3 to 15 years.
