The relevant committee of the Rada supported the resignation of the head of the National Bank of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Financial, Customs and Tax Policy supported the draft resolution on the dismissal of Yakov Smoliy from the post of head of the National Bank of the country. This was stated by a member of the committee, deputy of the Rada Yaroslav Zheleznyak, the correspondent of the news agency reports. The deputy noted that Smolia himself was not at the meeting of the committee, so the deputies could not find out who exactly exerted systemic political pressure on the official. Zheleznyak informed that 16 members of the relevant committee spoke in favor of the resignation of the head of the National Bank. Now the issue can be put to a vote in the session hall of parliament. the news agency recalls that Smoliy resigned on the evening of July 1, and on the morning of July 2, President Zelensky submitted a corresponding resolution to the Verkhovna Rada. The head of the National Bank said that he was leaving his post due to systemic political pressure, but had not yet given any details.
