Ukraine will continue discussion on preparations for the winter season

Today, July 8, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, in preparation for the next heating season, organized negotiations between representatives of energy-generating companies and coal mining enterprises. This was reported by the press service of the department, the correspondent of the news agency reports. According to the source, the purpose of the negotiations is to agree on ensuring a stable supply of coal products of Ukrainian production to energy-generating enterprises of thermal power plants and to resolve the issue of removing coal mines from forced downtime. It is reported that as a result of the negotiations, the parties approached compromise solutions and agreed that the discussion would continue. The prices, volumes and conditions for the supply of coal to TPP are exclusively the subject of commercial agreements of the parties to the negotiations, in which the ministry is not involved. The Ministry's task is to ensure the reliable operation of the electric power complex in the current difficult circumstances and create all conditions for the successful passage of the autumn-winter season. It is important for us that domestic coal mining enterprises resume production, and miners return to work, the acting head of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine Olga Buslavets said in her comment. The news agency recalls that on the eve of the Ministry of Energy said that despite the decision of the Government of Ukraine regarding the priority use of domestic coal at thermal power plants, some companies, in particular, Tsentrenergo, continue to use natural gas instead of coal. On June 17, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine by its decision introduced the priority use of Ukrainian energy coal for the production of electric energy at thermal power plants. with this decision, it is planned to save 20 thousand jobs in the coal industry.
