Hamas and Israel agree to cease fire

A ceasefire agreement was reached between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement, Maan reported on August 31. According to the Hamas leadership, the group promised to stop the attacks from the Gaza Strip. Israel also promised not to attack Gaza. Also, Israel, as noted, will have to lift the blockade on Gaza. The agreement was reached through the mediation of Qatar. As previously reported by the news agency, over the past two months, the exchange of strikes between Gaza and Israel has increased. Increased tension occurred against the backdrop of Israel's plans to annex Palestinian territories.
