Montenegro decided not to open the border for citizens of the Russian Federation


The decision not to allow Russian citizens to enter Montenegro due to the spread of coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 was made by the National Coordinating Council for Infectious Diseases (NKT) under the government of the republic, on August 1, RIA Novosti reported citing its source. According to him, the Montenegrin authorities are aware of the situation in the tourism sector, which lost most of its income in July due to the closure of communications with the Russian Federation and Serbia. Earlier, the Ministry of Tourism and Sustainable Development of the Republic put forward a proposal to open borders. According to the news agency, on July 29, the EU decided not to include Montenegro in the list of countries that citizens of EU countries are allowed to visit.
