Poster Tikhanovskaya - President hung at Government House in Minsk
On the monument in front of the Government House in Minsk, protesters hung a poster of the Tikhanov President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Republic of Belarus. This was reported today, August 14, by the Belarusian media. Recall that today protesters against the regime of Alexander Lukashenko marched through the streets of Minsk and gathered on Independence Square in front of the Government House. The participants demand that Alexander Lukashenko, who has led the republic since 1994, resign, and Svetlana Tikhanovskaya, who, according to official figures, won about 10% of the vote in the presidential election, be recognized as president. At first, the security forces did not prevent the movement of protesters around the city, but when the demonstrators gathered on Independence Square, law enforcement officers with heavy equipment, including water cannons, began to pull to the center of Minsk.
